The Firm

WITHARCUS

A firm built on execution,
not advice.

We are the team between the decision and the result.

01 · Who We Are

Not a consultancy. Not an agency.
The Chile Intelligence Layer.

With Arcus operates at the intersection of market intelligence, validation and local execution — for the international decision-maker who needs more than advice.

We protect international companies from what they cannot see from outside Chile.

Public information is abundant. Verified local intelligence is scarce. With Arcus exists to close that gap.

With Arcus

Intelligence, validation and execution. Built on mandates.

We hold institutional relationships with tier-1 operators, regulatory bodies and verified suppliers across Chile — and we activate those relationships on behalf of international companies making decisions related to Chile.

What we are not

No reports without execution. No junior teams.

We do not produce reports without execution. We do not manage engagements through junior teams. We do not take on clients we cannot deliver for. Every mandate is led by a founding partner — from assessment to first contract.

02 · Purpose, Mission & Values

Why we exist. What we do. How we do it.

Purpose

To make Chile accessible.

We exist to eliminate the barriers that prevent qualified foreign companies from accessing Chile's industrial economy — and Chile's qualified suppliers from reaching international markets.

Mission

Execute what others only plan.

To serve as the operational layer between foreign principals and Chile's industrial economy — turning strategy into contracts, relationships into revenue, and assessments into access.

Values

01

Commitment

We do what we say. We stay through completion.

02

Integrity

We represent both sides honestly — always.

03

Client Focus

Every decision is tested against your outcome.

04

Excellence

We don't deliver reports. We deliver results.

03 · Our Leadership

Principal-level engagement. Every mandate.

Each engagement is led by a founding partner — from the first diagnostic to the final deliverable. No handoffs. No intermediaries. No exceptions.

05 · Our Commitments

What we accepted. What we declined. Why.

These are real situations from active mandates. Names and details are withheld. The decisions are not.

Category

Situation

Decision

01

Legal & Structure

Client requested market entry without constituting a local legal entity.

Declined

+

Why we declined

Operating in Chile without a formally constituted entity exposes the client to undisclosed regulatory risk, civil liability and fiscal penalties under Chilean commercial law. We don't structure entry around shortcuts that create downstream exposure.

02

Mining Procurement

Industrial supplier asked us to initiate procurement contact before completing vendor qualification.

Declined

+

Why we declined

Approaching Codelco, BHP Escondida or SQM without completed homologation wastes procurement windows and generates refusal records that can block future access for 12–24 months. We enter the procurement cycle once — correctly.

03

Sourcing Integrity

International buyer requested we source from Chilean producers without prior supplier validation.

Declined

+

Why we declined

We don't operate with unaudited supply risk. Before any supplier enters a mandate, we verify certifications, export capacity and production consistency. A sourcing brief that skips verification is a liability, not a shortcut.

04

Revenue Model

Chilean supplier offered us a commission for referrals to international buyers.

Declined

+

Why we declined

We represent the international principal — not Chilean suppliers. Accepting referral fees from suppliers creates a conflict of interest that compromises our ability to recommend the best option for the client. We operate on the buyer side exclusively.

05

Scope & Deliverability

Client requested we take on a mandate where local conditions made the outcome uncertain.

Declined

+

Why we declined

We only accept engagements where we believe a concrete outcome is achievable. If we can't defend the deliverability at the assessment stage, we tell the client — before they commit capital. A mandate we can't deliver serves neither party.

06

Client Autonomy

Client asked us to pause a mandate mid-phase to re-evaluate their internal position.

Accepted

+

Why we accepted

Each phase ends with a client decision point. Pausing is a legitimate outcome. We structure mandates so the client retains full control at every stage — no sunk cost pressure, no automatic continuation.

07

Difficult Recommendations

Client expected a positive go/no-go after three sessions. Our assessment concluded otherwise.

Accepted

+

Why we accepted

An assessment that tells clients what they want to hear has no value. We delivered the finding with full documentation of the factors driving it — market structure, regulatory obstacles and competitive position. The client used it internally and returned 18 months later with a revised approach.
